Video game tester salaries: how much can you really earn as a game tester?

Video game companies are growing by leaps and bounds. While many companies struggle with the current recession, the video game industry shows no signs of slowing down. As gaming systems become more advanced, the need for additional employees to develop games continues to grow. Many of the most demanding players want to harness their passion and love for games as a full-time paid job.

Becoming a game tester often seems like a logical choice for passionate gamers looking for a job in the gaming industry. But the salary range for video game testers may vary by applicant. If you are 18 years old just out of high school, you will be lucky to earn more than $ 10 an hour. If you have a title related to a video game, you can do better, but anything above 35K a year is unlikely to start. This is a list of jobs I found that I will show you.

Major responsibilities:

Find and report problems (AKA – errors and inconsistencies).

Clarify problems (providing detailed information if necessary).

Check the troubleshooting and see things through to the end of the testing process.

Play through the game.

Thoroughly test a specific feature / by running a test case (Orientation Test).

Assist in the generation of test cases.

Ratings:

To perform this job successfully, the following requirements are necessary:

Previous gaming experience is a bonus.

Have knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word, and have crazy gaming skills.

Surprising, strangely strange attention to detail, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to work as a team member.

Note: You must be at least 18 years old to be considered for rental. There are multiple openings for this position. Local candidates only. This is a TEMPORARY full-time position with the possibility of overtime. All candidates must be willing to work more than 60 hours per week. Relocation is not provided. Payment starts at $ 10 / hour.

Not bad if you’re a young person who just wants to put their foot in the door. These are better paying jobs, but you will need some experience to get them. A game related title will also give you a great advantage and open up additional opportunities.
